I’m originally from Spain, and moved to the US at the age of 18, during the height of the 1960s anti-war movement. My original forms of expression were music (you will find photographs on this site of guitars I have built and restored, as well as vacuum tube amplifiers, which I have sold)

For the past 2 decades I have dedicated myself fully to photography, which I studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.

I am currently based in the NYC area and spend part of the year in Spain.

During different periods of my experience as a photographer I have focused on portraiture, still life, capturing both historic and significant personal moments in peoples lives, experimenting with various types of film (see my Kodakrome photographs), and with black and white.

But my focus for the past several years has been Street Photography. I find the resulting composition full of unexpected contrast and evocative yuxtapositions.

Most of my photographs in this style are taken in the streets of New York City. When photographing, I become as unobtrusive as possible—most often without using the viewfinder—to capture candid moments in people’s lives and the reality of urban living.
